Margie Wallen leads a team that provides policy consultation, technical assistance and peer learning opportunities to 23 states and Washington, DC.
She spearheads the effort to increase the capacity of early childhood advocates, the Educare Learning Network, and other state and local leaders to improve, implement and expand meaningful policies, investments, programs and services. The goal is to create high-functioning, high-quality local, state, and federal cross-sector early childhood systems to improve outcomes for children and families at scale across the nation.
Prior to her current role, Margie coordinated the work of the Illinois Early Learning Council. She has more than 30 years of experience in public policy and has consulted on a variety of state initiatives to enhance access to high-quality early care and education.
Margie holds a master’s degree from the University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration and is a member of the McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership’s Advisory Board.
