The Ounce of Prevention Fund is an Early Head Start and Head Start grantee, serving children and families living in specific communities in the city of Chicago and the south suburbs. The community areas served by Early Head Start include: Grand Boulevard, Fuller Park, Washington Park, New City, Brighton Park, McKinley Park, and west of Pulaski and south of Division Street in the Humboldt Park community area. Community areas served by Head Start include Grand Boulevard, Fuller Park, Washington Park, Kenwood, Morgan Park, Bridgeport, Humboldt Park, Logan Square, West Town, Englewood, West Englewood, Hermosa, Wicker Park, Edgewater/Uptown, Rogers Park, Woodlawn, Oakland and New City. In both Head Start and Early Head Start, medically fragile families are served throughout the city of Chicago. In south suburban Cook and Will counties, the Head Start communities include: Park Forest, Riverdale, University Park, Crete, Steger, Richton Park, and the Beacon Hill area of Chicago Heights.
We accept applications year-round from child care providers who may be interested in partnering with the Ounce to provide high-quality, comprehensive early learning programs in our approved service areas. We review all applications as they are submitted, and we will contact you directly in the event that funds become available to start a new partnership. We will not share your application information with any other organization and we will delete your application at any time upon request.
