For decades we’ve innovated and implemented approaches to early learning that have transformed lives and communities. Now we look to ensure the same opportunities for every child in America.
Research-based innovation has long been our hallmark, but we’re about to accelerate those efforts. We’ll be extending and building partnerships to develop and test new ideas, and we’ll be generating even more compelling evidence. We’ll be sharing our knowledge broadly, with practitioners and policymakers across the country. We’ll be adapting our proven models and helping create roadmaps for other cities, states and the nation.
One of our biggest initiatives will be dramatically expanding our home visiting professional development. For nearly 30 years, we’ve trained home visitors in Illinois, and currently provide wraparound training to 95% of the state’s home visiting workforce. Next, we’ll be offering affordable, online, on-demand training to home visitors and their supervisors anywhere in the country. We’ll also be extending online professional development opportunities to the rest of nation’s early childhood workforce.
We will offer new tools, resources and strategies to support and catalyze an ever-growing group of early childhood leaders and champions. Together, we will work to realize the full potential of quality early learning as a way to narrow the achievement gap and drive economic progress.
