Excellent early learning depends on excellent instructional leadership.
The Lead Learn Excel Library was created for instructional leaders of early education schools and centers who aspire for instructional excellence and kindergarten readiness for all children.
The tools in this library focus on the skills and systems leaders can build to fuel everyday teacher learning and continuous improvement.
Lead Learn Excel emphasizes three core ideas:
- Leaders are the drivers of improvement in early education, supporting the learning of every teacher and child in the building.
- Teachers are empowered to continuously improve when professional learning is collaborative, ongoing and embedded in daily work.
- Embedding professional learning in the fabric of a school leads to instructional excellence—and kindergarten-ready children.
Lead Learn Excel was developed through years of research and program work with early childhood leaders. Now with this site—and in partnership with the McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership, ExceleRate Illinois, the Illinois Governor’s Office of Early Childhood Development, the Illinois State Board of Education, and the Illinois Department of Human Services—the Ounce of Prevention Fund has curated the leading resources from experts to share with all early learning leaders.
